Bookings and Deposits

All wedding cake orders require a non-refundable deposit of 50% by 6 weeks prior to the date required.

Final Payments

Full balance is due 1 week prior to the cake delivery/collection date. Cash, BACS or cheques will be accepted, although cheques will need to be cleared before delivery/collection.

Late or Non-Payments

Late or non-payments could result in the loss of your booking date. In the event of a late or non-payment the order will not proceed until alternative funding has been secured and payment made in full.

Cancellations

Wedding Cakes

Less than 6 weeks’ notice of cancellation – 50% of the total cost will be retained. Less than 1 weeks’ notice – 100% of the total cost will be payable.

Change of wedding date

If, for any reason you wish to re-arrange the date of your wedding, I will try to accommodate the change without any additional charge provided sufficient notice is given and I am not fully booked on that date.

Stand Hire

Cake stands require a deposit, in addition to the hire charge, which is fully refundable on return of the cake stand on time and in good condition. Any damage will be deducted from the deposit. If a loss has occurred the full deposit will be retained.

Viewing

Decorated rich fruit cakes may be viewed in advance but unfortunately sponge cakes are baked as close to delivery as possible to retain freshness. It is therefore not possible to view a decorated sponge cake until it is delivered / collected. Flowers and models can be pre-made and viewed if required.

Delivery / Collection

On the day of collection, your order may be collected at a pre-arranged time as agreed on your order form. Should you wish to change the collection time I will do my best to accommodate this but cannot guarantee it.

Delivery: I will deliver at the time agreed on the order form. If for any reason I am unable to deliver because there is no-one to receive it or the address provided is incorrect I will do my best to locate someone using the numbers provided. In the event that nobody is contactable I will take the cake back and keep it for a maximum time of 24 hours. Delivery is subject to reasonable access conditions. If in the unlikely event there are adverse weather conditions such as snow or floods, this may make your venue inaccessible and delivery may not be possible.
Please Note: Sweet Bliss Bakes shall have no liability, other than the cost of the cake, for delays or failures in delivery to you resulting from any unexpected events, omissions, failures, accidents or other causes that are beyond reasonable control. It is strongly advised that you purchase wedding insurance to cover yourself against any eventuality.

Delivery / Setting Up of Your Cake at Your Venue

Cakes should be inspected on receipt to ensure that there is no damage. A designated person e.g. your wedding planner will need to sign to say the cake has been set up in good condition. No responsibility can be taken by Sweet Bliss Bakes for any subsequent damage once the cake has been handed over to the customer or venue.

Allergies

I can provide special recipe cakes on request. If you have any special dietary requirements please ask and I will do my best to meet your needs. There will be no extra charge for special diet cakes.

Please Note: I cannot guarantee that my cakes will be allergen free.

A list of the ingredients used and possible allergens will be included with your cake.

Storage of your cake

Decorated cakes should NOT be stored in a refrigerator. If the cake is not to be displayed straight away, it should be stored in the box in a cool room, somewhere where it will not be moved or knocked and away from condensation.

Shelf Life

Decorated rich fruit cakes will keep for several months, but sponge cakes should ideally be consumed immediately.

Cutting

Cakes need to be cut with care, particularly fruit cakes and carrot cakes which can crumble if not handled carefully. Use a long bladed serrated saw knife, which must be SHARP – ornamental cake cutting knives used for photos are usually not sharp enough. Use a clean damp cloth to clean and moisten the blade between each cut – this will help stop the knife dragging on the cake crumb. Use a sawing action with the serrated blade – don’t just push the knife downwards – and make sure to cut all the way to the base board.

 

Fresh Flowers

If you wish to use fresh flowers on your cake it is your responsibility to check with your florist if the flowers are suitable for use on a cake i.e. not poisonous or sprayed with toxic chemicals. Sweet Bliss Bakes are not responsible for damage done to the cake by fresh flowers or any toxicity caused by them after it has been delivered / set up.

Privacy

Details about your cake, any personal information and contact details given will be kept confidential at all times. I reserve the right to use photographs of cakes for publicity / promotion but will never use any personal detail. If you don’t want your cake photographed please let me know.

My aim is for you to be completely happy with your cake and the service I provide. Customer satisfaction is very important to me so I am happy to receive any feedback you may have.

Quality

I always buy the highest quality ingredients as I believe that will give the best possible flavour. I source the finest flour and farmhouse butter, free range eggs, using organic, local and Fair Trade where possible and always use organic fruits, herbs and flowers.
