I love baking and have a passion for beautiful cakes!
I spent many years baking cakes for friends and family and then discovered cake artistry in 2012.
I use a range of techniques to decorate cakes including piping, brush embroidery, hand painting, and making sugar flowers and models. I have trained in Royal Icing, Sugar Paste Decorating and Running a Cake Business with Dawn Pennington and in making Sugar Flowers with Lesley Rathbone – both are at Pennington’s School of Cake Artistry.
I have a degree in Health and have taken courses in Nutrition and Patisserie. I’ve had recipes published in BodyFit magazine and tea party pictures and ideas published in Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding magazine. I’ve also had two of my cake recipes printed in an Australian recipe book.
I source the finest quality ingredients for my cakes as I believe that they should taste scrumptious as well as look beautiful. I use organic flour, organic milk, fresh organic free range eggs and tasty farmhouse butter, Madagascan vanilla extract, Green & Black’s organic dark or white chocolate, scrumptious finest quality conserves, and added fruits, flowers or veg are organic.
I am registered with South Somerset District Council with a Food Standards Agency Level 5 rating, am insured and hold a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering.
